Need a good Instagram challenge to boost your mood? Here one that is fun and educational!
With most museums and galleries closed, a lot of people are having art withdraws. Anneloes Officier and her family in started recreating famous works of art while isolating in their home in Amsterdam and posting them on her Instagram @tussenkunstenquarantaine. After inspiring others to do the same, the hashtags had over 40,000 submissions.
The goal of the challenge is to recreate famous works of art with items found in your home, such as plants, food, toys, and even toilet paper. Many art professional, museum employees, and teachers have gotten involved.
Most of the submissions are by bored armatures, tired of being stuck at home. Many submissions have been with families and parents using the hashtag as a way to teach their now homeschooling kids about art.
What famous work of art would you want to recreate? Check out the hashtags #mettwinning, #betweenartandquarantine and #gettymuseumchallenge for inspiration and show us what you came up with!
