We’ve all been on a zoom call with someone who’s internet has um, not been the greatest. It’s super frustrating for everyone involved. What can you do to make sure your WIFI is always as fast as you need?
1. Move Your Router
Walls, cabinets, even bookshelves can potentially dampen your Wi-Fi signal. Physically moving the router can make a real difference to the speeds you get and how far its wireless transmissions can reach. The goal is to get your main devices, ie. your work computer, as close as possible to your router.
2. Forget the “wireless”
A wired connection to your router is preferable to a wireless one. For devices that need the fastest and most reliable internet possible, it could be worth the effort to run a wire.
3. Prioritize Devices
Especially now that so many of us our working from home, the devices that are a priority have changed. In order to speed the WIFI up for the devices you need, it helps to reduce the number of devices on your network. There are probably more devices on your network then you think. Having dozens of things tapping into the Wi-Fi at once can slow things down. If you are not using devices, it’s not worth them clogging your network.
What other ways have you found to speed up your WIFI?
